Croatia's Coach Zlatko Dalic Contemplates Adjustments to Starting Lineup Ahead of Clash with Albania"

With the looming threat of elimination, long-serving coach Zlatko Dalic might make some adjustments to his starting XI for the upcoming match. Following a disappointing performance against La Roja, where they conceded three goals in the first half, the Croatian defense is in need of a revamp. Martin Erlic could potentially replace Marin Pongracic, or Josko Gvardiol might be moved from full-back to the central defense position. This tactical change would allow Ajax defender Borna Sosa to start on the left, while Josip Stanisic is expected to fend off competition from Josip Juranovic for the right-back spot.

In the midfield, there are rumblings that Marcelo Brozovic's place alongside Mateo Kovacic and captain Luka Modric is at risk. Reports in the Croatian media suggest that either Mario Pasalic or the young Luka Sucic could be selected instead. Despite failing to convert any of their 16 shots in their previous match, including a missed penalty by Bruno Petkovic, Dalic is less inclined to make changes to the front line in Hamburg. Andrej Kramaric is likely to support Ante Budimir in attack, with Lovro Majer edging out Luka Ivanusec for the other attacking position.

Vice-captain Ivan Perisic, who made a cameo appearance off the bench, is still not fully fit to play the entire 90 minutes. The former Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur player is still recovering from a serious knee injury sustained last year. Additionally, Nikola Vlasic, the former Everton forward, has been sent home after picking up a muscular injury during training.

Potential Starting Lineup for Croatia: Livakovic; Stanisic, Sutalo, Gvardiol, Sosa; Modric, Sucic, Kovacic; Majer, Budimir, Kramaric
