According to the billionaire's father, Elon Musk is interested in purchasing the English football team Liverpool. The Fenway Sports Group (FSG) now owns the footballing powerhouses Liverpool, who are currently atop the Premier League standings. They have already dispelled the rumors. There was "no truth to these rumors," a representative for the FSG group informed the news organization The Associated Press.

Musk is considering purchasing Liverpool.

In an interview with Times Radio, Elon Musk's father, Errol, stated that the American entrepreneur is considering purchasing Liverpool, which sparked the rumors. Errol Musk remarked, "Oh, but that doesn't mean he's buying it." "Yes, of course, anyone would like to, and he would like to. I would, too.

"I am unable to remark on that. They will increase the cost."

The fact that FSG sold a minority stake in Liverpool to the US investment firm Dynasty Equity in 2023 and that Mike Gordon, the club's president at the time, said he would not mind bringing in additional partners if they could "ensure the club’s long-term financial resiliency and future growth" should give Musk hope.

FSG has stated that they are looking for new partners.

"We are still fully committed to Liverpool in the long run. In order to secure Liverpool's long-term financial stability and future expansion, Gordon had stated, "We have always stated that if there is an investment partner that is appropriate for Liverpool, we would pursue the opportunity."

Liverpool has been able to restore itself as one of the best football clubs in Europe thanks to the ownership of FSG. In 2020, a season after winning the Champions League trophy, the Merseyside club broke a thirty-year drought for an English league title. Liverpool is at the top of the Premier League and the Champions League this season.

Elon Musk, meantime, has entered British politics after the center-left Labour Party won in July. Tensions have increased as Musk called for a new election on his social media platform, X.

Following several attacks on his government, Labour leader Keir Starmer criticized Musk on Monday, denouncing the “lies and misinformation” that he said were undermining British democracy.
